What is Permission to Chill?
Permission to Chill is my weekly newsletter based on ‘Permission 1’ from my book Permission to Glow— A Spiritual Guide to Epic Leadership. I write about meditation, sobriety, and finding the courage to love ourselves— as is. Inspired mostly by my recent pilgrimage to India. I’ve always seen myself as my only available laboratory. God and guru ask that I show my work. Even when it comes with facepalms 🤦🏻♂️ or face-plants. 🛹💥
Paid subscribers can join our community practices each week, as we build community, deepen our practice, and run our own experiments in joy, purpose, and personal power. We also surrender into loving the game.
I host periodic Zoom hangs and live conversations, like this one with my friends at Sacred Business Flow, or this one recapping my India travels.
Once a month I share a roundup of things I consider to be “dope”— books, teachers, and art that moves humanity forward. Ya know: Dope Things.
What do I get?
Subscriptions to Permission to Chill are $6 a month or $56 a year.
Paying subscribers get:
Ability to comment and join in.
My weekly newsletter, where I teach meditation, and write about sobriety, breakthroughs in self-love, and other things I find to be dope.
What works, and short lessons in Spiritual Development.
Occasional Zoom hangs and live conversations.
My full archive with Table of Contents.
Where did ‘Permission to Chill’ come from?
God blessed me with a two-sided coin. On one side is Grace, which for me is serving humanity through yoga. I’m usually grateful and amazed: “Yoga has plans for me!” The other side is shame.
Childhood trauma led to addiction, and the end of my 25-year marriage. And thankfully, to recovery. Permission to Chill is the pause before jumping into what’s next. Meditation helps me love, and leverage both sides of the coin.
I couldn’t find the grace, or joy in my life without facing the depths of my pain. I repeatedly learn: when we give ourselves Permission to Chill— a wider, softer space opens. We savor our own little slice of heaven in this chaotic, troubled world. And we love the ride, because we’re not, and have never been alone.
God sent help. She sent US. ⚡️❤️🔥🧘🏻♂️🧘🏾♀️🧘♀️🧘🏾🧘🏿❤️🔥⚡️
