Cheryl Rice: Two Words Change Everything

New podcast interview: Hell Yeah You Will (30 min)

What if I told you there were two words?

Two words that, if you fully received them, could deeply improve your life? Two words that, if you offered them bravely to another human being, could completely transform theirs.

Two words. What if that’s all it takes?

Cheryl founded a global movement with a simple card, containing just two words. Over the last 10 years, 3 million cards have connected strangers, neighbors, and quiet heroes through a single act.

Today, Cheryl and I discuss why human beings matter. Now in the age of AI, more than ever. Please help me welcome to Hell Yeah, You Will: Cheryl Rice.

“A society thrives when people feel valued.
Mattering isn’t just personal—it’s the foundation for a healthier world.”

—Cheryl Rice, Founder of You Matter Marathon

Hell Yeah You Will is excited to share this 30-min conversation on perseverance, the two words that change everything, and the upcoming global virtual Mattering Summit.

Self-Acceptance to Self Love: The Spiritual Practice of Perseverance

What if mattering to yourself wasn’t a destination, but a daily practice?

Two years ago, Kristoffer Carter experienced a down-to-the-studs life renovation. Divorce after 25 mostly happy years of marriage. Full surrender into 12-step recovery. What emerged wasn’t a comeback story. It was something quieter and more durable: a pilot light. In this talk, drawing on conversations with world-class experts and the research behind his podcast Hell Yeah, You Will, Kris offers three practices for keeping that light burning when everything goes dark.

Takeaways:

  • Why self-acceptance must come before self-love, and closing the gap.

  • The Pilot Light practice: returning to purpose when you can’t feel it

  • How perseverance becomes a spiritual act (*not a grind)

Coaching Creates Unprecedented RESULTS 📈

At Epic Leadership, we work with founders, high-potential executives, founders, and Chief People Officers who are navigating rapid-change and want to lead from a place of power— not panic. Our approach is backed by data, grounded in real practice. Also, it takes real work, but it can also be fun.

Two things get me fired-up as a coach right now.

1. Your X-factors as a human being matter more than ever.
Your clarity. Your presence. Your ability to lead people through chaos without losing yourself. No AI can replicate that. Not yet, not ever. But only if you REMEMBER it. Only if you believe it down to your core.

2. Which is what makes me nervous. In 15+ years of coaching Fortune 500 leaders, I have watched brilliant people forget their worth. Our lives and careers are cycles of forgetting, then remembering. The dip, then the hockey stick.

Our work together? In this time of chaos, change and disruption, we must shorten that dip. Grab 30 minutes with me to chat 1:1 coaching, or training for your team.

Here is my ask. We are expanding our 1:1 Coaching and Leadership Development programs right now. If this is landing, I would love 30 minutes to discuss your goals.
